    Posting Rules for The Art Sherpa Community Group. - We will be pre-approving posts for a bit to make sure we are on mission. This is temporary.
    Hi everyone! Here are some The Art Sherpa Group rules… Comment in an ENCOURAGING & POSITIVE way!
     
     
    The mission of this group is to create a safe place to be a new artist. To connect people who watch The Art Sherpa on youtube with each other so they may continue to grow through each others art experiences and support. Finally so I can observe the following. #1 what I need to do better in my online teaching. #2 Art you may be wanting to learn to paint #3 to be able to connect with my community so I can make the very best show for them as is humanly possible. #4 to read as many of your comments directed to me as I can.
    The following is a basic guide of DO’s and DONT’s for using The Art Sherpa Group space. Read to the bottom. Rules may be subject to change if needed to keep the group safe, happy and fun for everyone.
    The Do’s
    Please do like, comment and encourage others. There are no limits on likes, encouragement in group. There is nothing more important we can do to give love and encouragement to each other. Give all the love you can and you will see it comes right back!!
    Lonely art
    If you see art that is not getting likes or comments please take a moment and pass on some encouragement. DO comment on other peoples art. DO encourage and spread Kindness like it is Confetti.
    Do share all the Art sherpa videos, traceables, blogs and resources you want.
    YES that helps me. Believe it or not you are my greatest helpers when it comes to getting the word out. Thank you to everyone who does this!
    Do Share your Art Sherpa Tutorial paintings - INFINITY I want to see them ALL !!!
    You can post non art Sherpa Artwork within limitations please read the following.
    You may post a total of 3 Non Art Sherpa paintings per week . They may be a combo of the following your original, online inspired and Other tutorials on youtube - IF you are also sharing tutorials OR we know you are a long time viewer of the show. We are those youtbers who know the people who have made the Art Journey with us.
    All originals and copies of Non Sherpa designs you are working on are LIMITED to no more then 3 a week. -as part of your total Non Art Sherpa Tutorials of 3 per week

    Here is a rule about that though. Please share the link of any art sherpa video you think will be helpful. DO NOT share the link of any other art teachers. You may mention something you feel that there is some help out there that will work and I get that. Sometimes it takes many teachers to explain something ..that said leave out the link( NO LINKS). If you must say “ $%^&% is my favorite teacher you should check him/her out... maybe take that love to their group. I bet it would make them smile ear to ear to read. I know when people in my group tell me I did a great job it feels amazing. Not as much feeling great the poeple shouting out the FAVORITE other art teacher. I may not be everybody's cup of art coffee but no need to rub it in. :P hehehe
    You may share good news about a non professional sale, hanging in a local gallery or donation of art to a charity.

Please don't encourage this activity in group. Until the ASTDM gets a final ruling on Silicone oil this is included. If you make a post promoting or featuring unsafe art practices is may be removed.
    PS love Modge Podge great company and they have a varnish for paintings. That is ok to share. Just not modge podge for acrylic art in general. Soft gel is the correct substitute
    If you are posting art ONLY from outside sources, INCLUDING original paintings, or from other teachers or youtubers -- and have no Art Sherpa Tutorials, posts or inspired paintings -- you will likely be removed from our groups. You are cool with that right ?
    No promoting or dropping links that are NOT related to The Art Sherpa.

    No Hash Tagging and linking through names to outside pages please- The Claire exception is goofy funny hashtags are of course ok

    SAMPLES
    So It great to request samples and share them when they come in. Art companies all love to share their product with you because they know once you try it chances are you will become a buyer. BUT let them know how awesome it is so they feel inspired to keep doing this.
    Do post online your finished art you did with them!! Tell us what you thought.
    If you buy the product after you tried the sample’s! DO please share that in the group and with the company you got the samples from. LETS see those pictures !
    In fact if you ever have a free day please email the companies that have sent you samples and share how much you enjoyed it. Did you end up getting the product? Let them know!!
    ( The following has not happened in this group as far as I know. Several art groups have encouraged asking for samples in large amounts and then reselling them. so please lets not do that )

    It is ok to ask for Wishes and prayers to be added to the canvas. Try not to over share. Many terrible things happen in the world. We are always saddened when it happens to our art family.     No paintings of topics that are intense or volatile. No self harm, glorification of violence or hate.     Rants/Vents - Complaining/Whining : Some Vents can be good, and some bad. If you are frustrated with your art journey in general and need to share with your art friends, that can be ok. Some days it is hard to art and you need your friends. Sometimes a good friend says something about your art and that was upsetting and you need a place to know its ok. However, don’t attack your fellow artists or group members. There is nothing in art we can’t talk about from a place of support and kindness.
    Don’t rant, complain or Whine about your removed post to the group. Do not complain about the group to the group. If there is an issue that needs to be addressed email Support@theartsherpa.com
    Art Youtubers, Art pages, art group owners, Instagram pages.
    If you are an artist building an audience of ANY size. Trying to get collectors, students or clients this is not a place for you to showcase your work, sell art, find collectors get fans or grow your audience. You may post your Art sherpa tutorial inspired paintings but no originals without express permission. Do not teach, friend or market in this group. If this is YOU please make a group, page and read the book Accelerating the Curve to grow your art business. Take the free Blueprint classes from facebook. Follow Maria Forlio. I respect my fellow creators and expect the same in return. If you write me for help or advice I probably will. If you act shady in my group I wont. Fair??

    Do not Mass friend.
    Do not go on a friending spree , Drop links or sell yourself, art or classes. These guidelines have been put into place because they disrupt and disrespect the mission of the group. At worse case endanger the safety of members. There are many groups for these activities and we gently suggest you find one. Yes PLEASE do make friends and hopefully Lifelong painting connections. Do not mass friend everyone in the group. This can really scare people. No matter your intentions,
    Being Human
    Amnesia is not a valid reason for breaking the rules. Being owed because you *BLANK* is not a valid reason. Choosing not to read the rules is not a valid reason. However bad days do happen. Trauma and stress,Medical issues , or just generally losing your kit. If you had a rare moment and made a mistake or used bad judgement. Facebook Glitches or Hacking . You can email us and explain. Generally a heartfelt “ I messed up I am sorry ” goes a long way. Guess what?? Ranting at how you are owed an apology and we are unfair will be deleted and potentially blocked.
    You may always contact support@theartsherpa.com of you feel there was an error or a facebook glitch and YES that does happen. We make mistakes too. My best advice is to be polite when you write us.
    NO BLOCKING the Moderator, John or The Art Sherpa
    If you block a Moderator or the Art Sherpa you may be removed from all Art Sherpa hosted Groups. Sometimes you can block by mistake. Sometimes FB will shut down an account or people leave. If you were removed for this reason message us at our e-mail support@theartsherpa.com we can fix it.
    We clean out these accounts often.
    If you feel you have had a post removed /not approved by mistake and YES that does happen FACEBOOK CAN BREAK. PLEASE email Support@theartsherpa.com

  • 18+ Fledgling sherpa Challenge

    How to use The Art Sherpa Fledgling Artist Challenge space. A totally different space sherpa space . This space will help you take your art to that next level. This is a space about only YOU and your original art !!!! YOU MUST READ AND AGREE TO THE POST NO self debasing comments about your art. No being critical about others. You must be 18 years of age topics and language may be adult in nature. You #artSherpaFledgling so we can find each other on the web
    YOU do need to be Nice all the time. Be a grown up all the times. If you feel like popping off sign off and take a breath. 📷 ❤️ Where to start your First Post. Say hello and introduce yourself. Tell us your preferred medium. Where are you at in your art and if you have one share your favorite Original Painting. This is the ONE older work you may post. Tell us how often you paint and what your greatest challenge to being creative is. If you have (only) Facebook, Instagram, blogs, websites artist social media pages you may add those to your posts. If you add social media pages later find your intro post and Add it into the comments of your posts. Or edit it in. Make your Name a Hashtag so you can find it again. EXAMPLE #Marcopolo
    Each week on Sunday I will post an Original Reference Photo. It will be Public Domain , free use or Creative Commons Copyright. I will Choose an image that will be ideal for the creation of art. You may use any media You may skip any weeks Challenge but you must do at least 6 challenges to remain in the group. As this is an adult class I will not monitor your language. Regardless be nice and if you get in a fight you will be muted for 24 hours. You may follow each others social media.

To help others make their next steps in a supportive environment. To be kind, brave, and unapologetic in your original art. This is not a place to get collectors from it's a place to lean how to get better at all things artist need to bridge from beginner to intermediate + mid emergent
    You may share original paintings of your own design. Period You may share your challenge paintings in all stages of progression. You may share links ONLY to your own art promotion pages if you have them. If you use a Reference image photo for your art YOU MUST have permission, or its a Creative Commons or public domain
    Do not share inspired paintings or tutorials not even mine Do not share the art of anyone but yourself
    Do not spam the group with ALL your paintings. If you are working on something current share that. Do not share older art. This is about now. Right now what you are working on. NO more than #1 one current project of original not to include the challenge painting a week. Original art created within the last 4 months
    You may Catch up on weekly challenges. You may share more than one weekly challenge painting a week. To be qualified for the complete Challenge you must have all paintings submitted By Jan 31 2019. We are working on a website solution but for now keep them here

    There will be Cyber field Trips - We will go as a group to Fledglings who volunteer their art pages, blogs, websites, instagrams and review what is working and what could be changed to improve Reach.
    There will be photograph your art days- you will take a image of your art and format it for Facebook art pages and Instagram. Also low res for entry into art shows.
    There will be Artist portfolio Advice and Creation activities
    There will be calls for artist posted and you may enter.
    There will be artist statement and artist statement group support.

    Do share Calls for artists, contests, grants and residencies
    Do not ask for votes in a social media art contest
    Do not art shame. No art background is less worthy than another. Being honest never requires being mean when you are an adult. Think and then speak. If you cant you will be muted.
