Best 3D printed aircraft models for display—show your prints!
I’ve gotten pretty obsessed with printing aircraft models lately—there’s just something about the sleek designs and all the little details. My latest project was a classic fighter jet, and it’s honestly become the centerpiece of my shelf! I’ve been browsing sites like https://www.gambody.com/premium/vehicles-stl-files/aircraft-stl-files looking for new ideas, especially anything with crazy landing gear or super-detailed cockpits. Anyone else into printing aircraft? I’d love to see what you’ve made or hear about your favorite models. Any tips for tackling complex prints are welcome too!
Aircraft prints are some of my favorites too! There’s nothing like assembling a multi-part plane with working landing gear or a detailed cockpit. One of my proudest projects was a vintage biplane where I added tiny LEDs for the instrument panel—friends kept asking if it was a store-bought model. I love printing in separate sections and then piecing it all together; it’s super satisfying and helps with painting, too. My advice: take your time on the little details and don’t be afraid to get creative with add-ons like lights or custom decals. They really take your model to the next level!
