Zoom 🌟🎨 Oil pastels for the Degas Dancer step by step Edgar Degas's "The Dancer," I'll be walking you through each step using specific materials. While I'll list what I'm using, remember that art is adaptable, and similar items will work just fine. Let's make sure you have a fantastic experience while staying flexible! 1. Oil Pastel Set Grey Black White Light skin tone Medium skin tone Deep skin tone Brown Pink or Coral What I Have: I use the complete set by Sennelier, which includes all the colors we'll need. I will say the exact as I use them and there is a reference swatch sheet of my colors I am sharing Alternative: Any quality set with at least 24 colors, including pastels, neutrals, and a range of skin tones. Many brands offer a 'portrait set' that will be suitable for our Degas-inspired artwork. Tissues Cotton Swabs 2. Rubber Shaper Brushes Where to Buy: Sets from Amazon are perfectly fine; that's where I got mine. Tip: Look for a set that feels comfortable in your hand and offers various tip shapes for blending. Q-tips or other blenders can be ok too 3. (optional) Artist Palette Knife Type: Small, with a diamond-shaped head for fine details and texture work. 4. Toned Drawing Paper Size & Weight: At least 9x12 inches and 98 lbs to support the oil pastel's weight without buckling. What I Use: Fabriano's colored drawing paper, which provides a lovely surface for our pastels. Alternative: Any similar toned paper that fits the size and weight specifications. A colored background will enhance the pastel colors and give a rich depth to your artwork. Getting Ready for Class: Don't worry if you don't have these exact brands. The focus is on learning the techniques and enjoying the process. In our introduction, I'll give you the lowdown on how to choose the best supplies for your art, helping you become a savvy art consumer. Can't wait to create with you!
