How to Maintain High-Volume Office Printers for Longevity
We have a Konica Minolta bizhub in our office that runs pretty much all day, Monday to Friday, and it’s been a real workhorse — until recently. Now, it’s jamming way more often, and I’ve noticed the print quality isn’t as sharp as it used to be. We’ve had to call in a tech almost every month, and it’s starting to add up. I checked the official Konica Minolta manuals here https://manuals.online/konica-minolta , and they mention preventive maintenance, but I’m curious what’s actually effective in a busy office environment. Are there any routines, cleaning schedules, or little tricks that can keep these machines in top shape without constant service calls?
We run a magicolor series printer in our shop and had the same issues until we started doing regular cleanings and changing toner before it ran completely empty. Also, keeping the machine in a dust-free space helps a lot – dust buildup in the rollers is a big culprit for jams. The manuals’ preventive maintenance tips really work; since we started following them, our downtime dropped massively. Even just vacuuming around the machine and wiping the rollers every couple of weeks made a noticeable difference.
