Did my first acrylic painting today! I am so happy I found you Art Sherpa & family. I am going to have to stay busy during these times of uncertainty. I am currently a college student in the Addiction Counseling Program at Minneapolis College and all of our classes are online via Zoom now. I was very involved in Student Life and the Collegiate Recovery Program on our campus that supports college students in recovery and am saddened by the change of online learning only. I am grateful, however, for so many things. 
I will be using your video lessons to support my mental health, recovery from alcohol because it facilitates creative growth and healthy interests. A wonderful creative outlet and way to express my artistic side. Additionally, I can do these painting videos with friends, family and online with fellow students.
I am going to talk about you and this wonderful Art Sherpa life of painting next week in our weekly Addiction Counseling Club meeting via Zoom. We are all students in school to become licensed drug and alcohol counselors and many of us are in recovery ourselves. I posted my first painting on Facebook and so many fellow classmates have replied in interest of doing a video lesson painting themself. You have so many painting options- there is one for everyone.

My name is Lilly!! I was talking with a friend about painting and since I am someone who is lucky to be able to draw a stick figure. A friend told me about Art Sherpa. I started watching some video's I am really impressed and cannot wait to start. I am hoping that this will be an outlet for me :) I would love to make some new online friends who also love Painting. I am new to this so place bare with me. :)

I am so excited to be here!  I was introduced to Cinnamon by my friend in 2017.  With a recent birthday gift of a 51 piece Acrylic paint set, I have fallen in love once again with painting.  I just celebrated my 20th painting milestone.   Thanks John and Cinnamon for making painting fun!

I love to pant and draw and I love idea

I started painting again in summer 2019, following a 39 year hiatus. I haven’t painted since high school. I just never thought I was good enough to be a real artist, so I stopped. Going to some wine and sip events early this year, I rediscovered the joy that painting brings me. I’m doing this for me, and trying very hard not to judge myself through how I perceive others view me. For now I’m following online tutorials, and it is wonderfully stress free. Maybe some day I will resume painting on my own, but not until I relearn a lot. I used to paint in oils, and while acrylics are much more practical, they don’t work the same way. I have a lot to learn about this new medium.
