I need advice, any ideas on how to paint a realistic rainbow? i feel stuck , dont know how to fix. I am also including photo I'm painting for a friend.
My beautiful friend sent me message the other day after the election:
"My artsy and most loved family, my heart hurts for our country and children who are dealing with the hatefulness lately and I need to paint it out. Yin and yang keep coming to my mind inspiring peace through the balance of differences. But the process is stressing me out too. I want the yin and yang to include words what are clearly opposite (love hate) but I also want to include current specific issues without assigning them a side in fear of not being balanced myself. My only idea so far is to put them in the outside but I was also thinking of putting balanced words on the outside or just a peaceful background. Thoughts? Inspiration? Love you both. Please share this idea with anyone else you think might be able to help. ❤️😘"
We have decided on a collaboration of sorts and we're hoping Cinnamon might be willing to do a short tutorial to make it a world wide effort.
The idea is to do a yin and yang with balancing words ... positive under the dark and negative under the light. My goal is to overlay a dragonfly because it represents to change to me. Everyone could use whatever represents change to them. My starts of this collaboration are posted under my unique art.
Maybe we can be a force for change in the world, our nation, and ourselves.

I finished my snowy birch tree painting yesterday. I am thinking of adding some more highlights. To me, it looked a lot better before I added the black squiggly lines on trunk. I think I messed it up!
JUST WANTING TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO EVERYONE TO SAY MAKE A GREAT SUNDAY AND SEND A LITTLE LOVE OUT THERE!!
So, I have been a bit frustrated lately, because my last few paintings have not turned out. For some reason, I just really struggle with getting things right when doing animals.... but then I got to thinking about other things that I have tried, or started, and did not succeed when I first tried, but I kept going, kept trying, and eventually got to where I wanted. So today I have decided that I am not gonna let it get me down anymore, instead... I am going on my own kind of art quest. I have to thank Cinnamon, because something she talked about in one of her videos gave me the idea. I am going to do a painting every day for a month, and I am not going to opt for the ones that are easier for me, or something that I know I can do. Instead, I am going to do ones that I know are going to be difficult for me.... who knows, if I have an idea I really like, I may do the same painting more than once, .... until I get it.... and until I have improved my skills... especially when doing animals. I will be sharing my daily paintings on here, even the really bad ones.. lol... because the only way to get better, is to keep trying. :)
