I am gearing up to rent studio space and launch my business painting. My name will be
The Windows Art Gallery
An Art Sherpa LaBs Studio
I am based in Putnam, CT and have been painting doing small parties in homes, camps and at a local Arts and Crafts store. I have sold at least 8 original paintings this year and people love doing originals and Art Sherpa paintings with me. Labs is the perfect launching point for me. My secondary purpose for my business is to offer support, encouragement and hands on help for other women needing to change careers or move out of unhealthy habits into employment that gains them financial independence. I retired after 38 years as an oncology nurse and wow a change was needed is all I will say. My home area is overrun with other women in severe need of a change. Many of them caught up in addictions or domestic violence. I have already incorporated and made a 501 c 3 for this part of my painting mission. Please add me to your prayers, canvas wishes and good thoughts as I proceed. I am anxiously awaiting the release of the Art Sherpa business tools and website. Not that I am rushing you Cinnamon Cooney and friends. Thank you so much for this valuable LaBs. It means so much to so many and Iplan on using it to bring joy and practical help to as many people as possible while making a great retirement job for myself. #goteamsherpa#
Hi everyone.
Thank you Cinnamon for your fantastic tutorials. I feel very blessed.
My name is Jacqui and I live in UK. I have been on my art journey now for about three or four years.
still learning so much all the time.
Art Friends,
I joined the world of art of August 17, 2017 when the Lord retired me from a 37 year nursing career. He told me to paint and everything has changed since that time. I paint Christian art as well as more traditional work. Some of my work is used to bring attention to the need for transitional living services for women in Northeastern CT. I would like to find like minded people to help create a ground breaking facility for them.

Today, I start my #BAQ2016. I will finish my color chart and start my pears!! So exciting!
Posting an update to let everyone know I'm doing fine, just busy with school, stress, dr's visits, and medical procedures. I hope everyone is doing well!
My philosophy of life includes enjoying every moment and living in the now. Creating art releases my soul and frees me from the daily humdrum of life. I think less and become present in the moment, merging with my subject on a higher level. My interests vary considerably in all areas of life, especially art. Subjects for paintings exist everywhere. One of my favorite sayings is, "Do what you love and the money will follow." Acrylic works well for me because it dries quickly. The wide range of vivid colors appeals to me and it allows me to create thick texture like oil, or, by adding water or special mediums, I get a smooth, easy flowing softness like watercolor. I also like watercolor.
Since I tend to paint very fast, and often have several projects in the works at one time, I need the fast drying time. My original rendering of a subject can be done quickly. Then I refine and fiddle around with it. Sometimes it's best if I quit before the second stage, but I never know that until after the fact. Every painting represents a learning experience for me. Each painting I complete becomes an experience to remember and draw on at a later time, pun intended. I am currently experimenting with alcohol ink and I really enjoy it.
I had to share this tidbit about my baby girl! She's 19 and wants to someday own her own cake shop. Well, about a week ago she got hired at a local bakery called Crazy Cake Cafe, and today, she got to decorate a cake! I think she did an awesome job! Go Sammy!!! The blue thing in the back says "It's a boy". :-)
