Quest : Make a Wheel from your own paint.
Beginners learn an introduction to color and the terms artist use to talk about it :)
Primary: Red yellow and blue.
Note most artist feel there are 6 primaries not 3. Warm and cool primaries.
Secondary : the mix of two primary colors
Tertiary: The combo of a primary and secondary color
Warm and Cool: A way to talk about how close a color is to blue or yellow and red
Complimentary : Color that are opposite on the color wheel and when mixed tone or grey
Analogous: colors sit next to each other on the color wheel. They tend to look pleasant together because they are closely related.
*** Acrylic Paint Colors ***
Any of the following or what your have in your own art box.
Phthalocyanine Blue (green shade)
Ultramarine Blue
Dioxazine Purple-optional
Cadmium Yellow, Medium Shade (hue is ok)
Cad yellow light shade
Cadmium Red, Medium Shade (hue is ok)
Naphthol Crimson
Use the colors that you have but know that if you have Cad Red Purple will need to be added by dioxazine purple
*** Assorted Brushes for Acrylic Painting ***
Medium flick resistance, synthetic or natural fiber. Short Bristles and Short handle. Acrylic handle over wood and Synthetic fiber over natural .
Bright 1” ½” ¼”
Filbert 1” ½”
Detail round - medium- and fine
½ shader
I generally paint with Simply Simmons , Creative Mark, Ebony Splendor and Pro Stroke brushes. I also use some Windsor Newton and Ruby Satin Silver
My favorite Brush is Goldilocks or Simply Simmons bright #10 Extra Firm Filament
