Top Ten Tips for art time with kids
#1 Artist Tape- Scotch Tape-painters tape . Kids paint with their whole bodies so tape that paper down.
#2 Work small- Smaller Canvas-Small brushes - Everyone gets tired when they paint. Make things easy by reducing the paper and canvas size. Small brushes don' over load.
#3 Old clothes- Remove all things valuable and wear clothes that can be destroyed. if you have an heirloom nearby paint will find it I promise.
#4 Half Full water cups and Mister to prime water color. You may need to be the helper for rinsing acrylics. This keep the water levels down.
#5 Take Care of MOMs calm space. Turn off your phone , put on spa music, get a cup of tea or any sippy sippy you need. Get the juice or water too. you control the drinks to prevent spills
#6 BE collaborative but No matter what don't TEACH calmly show ( LOL I know impossible but do your best)
#7 Protect the good time- Set yourself up to win by getting as much ready before you announce the project. Be prepared for the impossible or at least imagine your child has an improbability drive in their brains .
#8 Display EVERYTHING. Scan and recycle. Your house is an art gallery or at least some space in your house should be.
#9 The pincher - The robot pincher grabs the brush at the metal :)
#10 Closing early -Repeat Often

This is awesome love the tips , I have a home daycare but have created with children long before that . My favorite memories revolve around creating with my grandmother and my best friends mother so that is the main memories I wanted to pass along. I start the process super young with the kiddos like as soon as they can sit up in a high chair. My favorite at that age is mess free finger painting. I put heavy card stock into a gallon ziplock. Hold paint choices out to baby the first 3-5 they touch I put dots on the paper zip it closed and tape it to the tray then let them discover the squishy and colors and surprise colors. I carefully cut edges and lift off plastic let dry and gift to parents. They love this first art.
