In a painting like this there are couple things that we can do to create mood within the art. Color and contrast clearly play a role but so does the directionality of your brush stroke. As with previous lessons creating an implied Texture and directionality of stroke can inform the viewer about many things within your art. To create the wind swept rainy day the rain brushstroke runs from an upper right to lower left direction. This layered over our Moody graded background really helps capture this drizzly dark day.
