Yesterday I completed Girl With Lantern. I am happy with it overall, although the face isn’t quite right. I considered painting it out and redoing it, but for now it is what it is. Can’t decide what to paint next!
Haven’t worked on her in a bit, had a couple hours today, but seems to be slow progress. Worked on the face more, then the hand and arms. She is coming along, but I am anxious to finish.
Still coming along. That fog area on the right is still messed up, and I had trouble with the lantern glow. In both cases the paint couldn't seem to layer anymore and was pulling the paint off. Not sure if this is my technique and need of more experience, or the quality of this canvas. Different brand than I’d been using. This is Masters Touch from Hobby Lobby. (But then again, I’ve used them in the past.) Hope to work on her more today.
I finally decided to start painting the Girl with Lantern painting yesterday. I didn’t finish the last five in the Acrylic April series, but after that crab I needed a change of pace. I’m happy to say this one is coming along nicely and I’ve made quite a bit of progress with it in just one day. The slightly larger 10 x 10 canvas has also really made a lot of difference from the 8 x 8 which caused me a lot of neck pain and problems. I’m surprised that 2 inches made that much difference.
Yesterday I also went ahead and hung most of the AA on the wall I had planned to make shelves for. This was just faster. They are well spaced in regard to one another, but slanted as an overall group but that’s how they’re staying for now!
