Living in Calgary for years has taught me that cars really suffer here more than in many other places. Between winter salt, sudden temperature swings, gravel on the roads, and strong sun in summer, I’m honestly never sure what kind of detailing actually matters. I’ve been asking myself the same questions, especially after my last winter basically destroyed the look of my old sedan. From my experience, paint protection and undercarriage cleaning are huge here. The road salt alone is brutal, and regular washes don’t really get into all the places where corrosion starts. I started paying more attention after seeing rust spots way earlier than expected.
