Inhave been looking at all Paintings I have done so far and I am noticing that I am beginning to have setsnof paintings that have similar themes or feels to them. So far I have whimsical trees with and without swings, Cabin in the forest with a waterfall wall, baby deer and woodsy feel. I have a water theme of a river boathouse, and boat along with a lighthouse. I have various flowers, I even have a series of flowers with a small insect. I have characters from children shows, fantasy fairies and outdoor adventures. All this, and now I think; WOW, I am pretty awesome! To accomplish and learn so much in a short time. I can't seem to thank Cinnamon enough for providing the videos that have changed my life, those around me and have even helped to bring color into my home and life.
Not to long ago I was just an ordinary mom and wife. Then one day I went to Sam's Club with my husband and my life changed. It started with me looking at an artist starter kit that included an easel acrylic paint, water colors, pencils, pastels, pictures on paper, and a few canvas panels all for a very low price of $19.99. My husband asked me if I wanted it and I said of course not I can not "do art" I only do crafts with the grand kids. He said it wouldn't hurt to try and it wasn't going to cost a lot to find out if I could "do art". I think I must have had the kit for over a month before I sat down to open it and carefully go through each set of art medium.. I decided to start with the tubes of acrylic paint. That is something I havent used before. So before I could paint I needed to look for something to teach me the basics to get started. I began my search on YouTube, but I didn't have to look very far. I came across The Art Sherpa beginner tutorials. I quickly glanced through the videos looking for something that looked like it would be easy. This was before I really researched any of the videos and the levels. My first paintimg was of Cattails and dragonflies on a lake.. I gotta say I did pretty darn good on the painting with the exception of the dragonflies which I still havent paint because I was waiting for enough practice to add them in. It was on that day that I discovered that I really liked painting and I wanted to do more. It has now been close to 5 months. I have painted almost 50 Paintings. My husband now asks me all the time. Why did it take us being married 20 years to discover that I love painting and I am not to bad at. So now I am no longer an ordinary mom and wife; now that I have brought color into our lives.
