Hey everyone, I’m moving from the Mesa area to San Roque next month and totally stressing about finding a reliable local moving company. I’ve had a bad experience before where the movers scratched up my hardwood floors and "forgot" half my boxes. So yeah... definitely don’t want to repeat that disaster. Has anyone here worked with a company they’d actually recommend and trust yellow pages santa barbara ?
I second that advice! We moved last year from Carpinteria to SB and had a smooth experience after asking all those same questions upfront. Local companies really do vary, so the more info you get beforehand, the better. Good luck with the move — hope it goes way better than your last one!
Totally get where you're coming from — I had a similar experience a couple years back when we moved from Goleta to downtown. We ended up using a local crew we found through santabarbarayp.com — what helped was that they had local reviews from actual people around town, not just generic 5-stars. One tip I learned the hard way: always ask if the movers are subcontractors or direct employees. The first quote I got seemed good until I realized it was a broker outsourcing to whoever was available. The second team we hired (direct company) was amazing — showed up early, wrapped furniture, no drama. Plus, they knew how to maneuver the tricky driveway at our new place like pros. Just be super clear on the inventory and check the insurance coverage — some of them barely cover anything unless you ask. Hope that helps a bit!
