Hello to one and all.  My name is Michele and at the tender age of 70 I have discovered my newest passion for this lifetime, painting. My interest in creating was rekindled by my part time job as a childcare worker for Troy schools.  I was in charge of the daily crafts for the 78 kids in our program, pre-K thru 5th grade. We made fleece teddy bears and pillows, scarves for mom for mother day, fairy gardens, garden paving stones, tye-dyed t-shirts and much more. They inspired me and helped me to find my love for creating again and the satisfaction of learning something new. 

I have been a quilter for 25 years, and have done ceramics and porcelain and worked with wood making furniture. You could say a Jill of all trades and trying to master them as best I can.  I am simply a woman who likes to keep busy and is not afraid to try something new.

I have been at this new "passion" for 3 weeks now and learning from tutorials on YouTube.  In my opinion The Art Sherpa  is BY FAR the best of the best teacher around.  I paint every day, and love the more detailed projects she presents. The banter she shares with her husband, John, is wonderful.  That in itself makes spending my nights with them so entertaining.  Did I mention that I call what I do "Art in the Dark"?  That's because I begin when my husband Ron goes to bed at 11 pm.  My family is very impressed by my achievements so far.  I so look forward to continuing with my "Art in the Dark". 

When I figure out how to make it work I will share what I have done so far.  I'm very pleased with my progress.
