This is the first set in my Funky Flora series (first ATCs ever, too!). I'm painting unusual flora from around the world to have fun while I develop skills. This set, intended to emulate Victorian cards, includes Dracula Simia (monkey face orchid), hanging naked man orchid, and the Darth Vader Coleus.
Materials: Strathmore Acrylic ATCs; Golden, Liquitex Pro, and Matisse paints; Martha Stewart Pearl Acrylic & FolkArt Outdoor Metallic Rose Shimmer for accents on hanging naked man; DecoArt Dazzling Metallics Elegant Finish Splendid Gold accent on Dracula Simia and corner art; UltraPro Card Sleeves (Amazon 500 for $6).
Darth Vader was the most fun and I feel I learned the most about creating perceptions of depth. The hardest was the hanging naked man. The first attempt was trashed. I had no idea how difficult that flower would be considering how simple it appears.
