Shadows are more than gray or black
Ever since Quest 50 Shades of Gray, shadows intrigue me. I was out walking today, looking at shadows, and noticed that they aren't ever just a solid block of black or gray paint the way I have been inclined to paint or draw them. The shadow of myself on the road is many different shades of gray, and the shapes/textures of the stones, twigs, and stray pine needles show through in their own, albeit muted, colors.... Hmmmmm. I think there is way more to a shadow than I've given it credit for! How about you? What do you notice about shadows lately? Anything new?
